Spantik Peak face is climbed via two different routes. Alexander Klenov and Mikhail Davy climbed the first section of the pillar along the English route and then continued via a new line which required 11 bivouacs overall. The international team spent five days following Victor Saunders and Mick Fowler's English route between 5th and 11th August 1987. In 1959 a British-Pakistan Army expedition under the leadership of Captain H.R.A. Streather headed to Chogolungma and Kero Lungma glaciers to explore them for a possible climb on the smaller peaks in the area. The peak was however climbed from south ridge by a Japanese Club Expedition called Hoshi-to-Arashi (Stars and Storms) led by Nakamura. The Reiho Alpine Club expedition of Japan also climbed it in the same year from southeast ridge. It was led by Y. Murata. Both expeditions mention avalanche danger in the area and both approached the peak from Chogolungma Glacier. Some Japanese publications indicate that Spantik peak was climbed in 1955 by Germans. This trek is also an interesting trek to visit two different valleys Arandu and Haramosh. Both valleys people mostly working to find out minrals (stones) and in both valley has expensive stones which God gifted but very hard workd to find them. Mashabrum Expeditions team will visit you in both valleys to meet different cultures and envirments.

KARAKORUM GUIDES TREKS & TOURS Team tried to show you the equipment for mountaineering and trekking and if something is missing in our given list then please let us know, we will add those missing things. "Thanks in advance" What clothing and equipment to take is normally caused for more consideration than any other aspect of preparing for an adventure travel trip. We regularly receive reams of advice and suggestions, good and bad, as to what equipment is needed for our trips. However, since being suitably equipped is the single most important consideration contributing to your welfare, we have provided the following information which we ask you to examine in a flexible manner, adapting it where you feel necessary to your own outdoor experience or preference. There is a fine balance between taking too much and too little, especially considering that you need to equip yourself for all extremes of climate. Over the years we have seen all extremes, from trekkers who have brought everything but the kitchen sink, to others with the bare minimum. The following equipment list is suggested and necessary for both climbing & trekking in the Karakoram. Use this list as a guideline; some of the equipment can be hired in Skardu as well. Also bear in mind trekking gear can be bought in the many mountaineering shops in Skardu, the majority of gear is Chinese manufactured.
